Hyderabad The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has elected Kataru Ravi Kumar Reddy as Chairman, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh State Development Councils. Ravi Reddy Chairman and Managing Director of Axis Energy Group has assumed office as the Chairman of Asscoham for 2023-24.

He is a first-generation entrepreneur who has defined success through his over two decades of experience in large-scale infrastructure and power projects. He has also ventured and tasted success in other business sectors like transportation and mining.

Kataru Ravi Kumar Reddy is a well-grounded and versatile personality who thinks beyond his company and always aims at intensifying the concept of sustainable and overall eco-friendly development and promoting the renewable energy sector. He is the trustee member of NSEFI, President AP and TS chapters of IWPA, and an active member of the CII, WIPPA, and IWTMA. He has been part of many policy initiatives favouring the RE sector at the Central and State levels and has been instrumental in relentlessly pursuing with the governments at both the national and the state levels for resolving some of the long pending issues detrimental to the growth of the RE industry.

His vision to reduce the carbon footprint and to provide a better environment for our future generations started taking shape through the renewable energy and clean mobility projects of Axis Energy Group. His vision and his ideas not only impressed various sectors in our nation but also attracted many partnerships and collaborations.

The Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) is the country's oldest apex chamber serving the nation since 1920. It brings in actionable insights to strengthen the Indian ecosystem, leveraging its network of more than 4,50,000 members, of which MSMEs represent a large segment. With a strong presence in states and key cities globally, ASSOCHA also has more than 400 associations, federations, and regional chambers in its fold.

These Councils are led by well-known industry leaders, academicians, economists, and independent professionals. The Chamber focuses on aligning critical needs and interests of the industry with the growth aspirations of the nation.

Assocham is driving four strategic priorities - Sustainability, Empowerment, Entrepreneurship and Digitisation. The chamber believes that affirmative action in these areas would help drive an inclusive and sustainable socio-economic growth for the country.

The chamber also supports civil society through citizenship programmes, to drive inclusive development. Asscocham's member network leads initiatives in various segments such as empowerment, healthcare, education and skilling, hygiene, affirmative action, road safety, livelihood, life skills, sustainability, to name a few.

Macha Dinesh Babu, State Head for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Assocham said “Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are the fast-growing states in South India. Assocham council would explore the opportunities in core industries working closely with the governments under the leadership of Ravi Reddy”.
