Futures trade on mixed note

Gold prices retreated from record levels to trade below the Rs 1.09 lakh-mark per 10 grams in the domestic futures market, as investors booked profits at elevated levels in tandem with a weak trend in overseas markets.

Silver prices continued their upward trend, by jumping Rs 671 to Rs 1,25,132 per kilogram in the domestic futures market, driven by escalating tensions in the Middle East and a weakening US dollar.
