NYT Connections Today: Hints and answers for April 26, 2025

NYT Connections is a daily treat for word lovers, offering a fresh challenge each day. If you're one of those players who gets a thrill from sorting through tricky clues, today’s hints and answers are here to give you a helpful nudge — but beware of spoilers ahead!
About NYT Connections
Connections is The New York Times’ popular daily word puzzle, designed to test your vocabulary skills and quick thinking. Created by associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, the game first launched on PC in beta mode on June 12, 2023. Since then, it has skyrocketed in popularity, becoming NYT’s second-most-played game after Wordle.
In each puzzle, you're presented with 16 random words. Your task? Sort them into four groups of four based on hidden connections. Categories might revolve around meanings, themes, or clever wordplay — and only one correct solution exists. Pick wrong too many times (four mistakes!), and it’s game over.

How to Play NYT Connections
Each day at midnight, a brand-new puzzle drops on the NYT website and app. Players must group the 16 provided words into four sets based on their hidden links. It could be anything from synonyms to phrases, famous names, or even playful anagrams.
The difficulty levels are color-coded:
Yellow: Easiest
Green and Blue: Medium difficulty
Purple: Most challenging, often involving wordplay or tricky connections.
If you group three correct words but stumble on the fourth, the game might hint that you’re “one word away.” But be careful — you still need to figure out which word needs swapping. Make four mistakes, and you’ll have to try again tomorrow.
Connections not only sharpens your mind but also brings a vibrant community feel, with players sharing their wins (and losses) all over social media platforms like X (formerly Twitter).
So, ready to dive into today’s grid? Good luck — and happy connecting!
