Mysterious animal caught in camera during the oath-taking ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan: video

The oath-taking ceremony of BJP MP Durga Das Uikey turned into a subject of intrigue and amusement when a video showing a shadowy animal walking in the background of the event went viral on social media. The footage, taken at Rashtrapati Bhavan during Uikey’s greeting with President Droupadi Murmu, sparked a flurry of speculation as viewers debated whether the creature could be a leopard.

The video, which shows Uikey signing the register and walking towards President Murmu with the mysterious animal moving in the background, quickly caught the public's attention. Some social media users claimed it was a big cat, possibly a leopard, leading to widespread conjecture and amusement online.

Responding to the viral video, a Delhi Police official dismissed the rumors of a leopard sighting, stating that the only animals within the presidential estate are dogs and domestic cats. The official confirmed, “We checked with Rashtrapati Bhavan security regarding the animal. They assured us there was no leopard inside. The only animals present are dogs and house cats.”

This sentiment was echoed by a forest department official, who confirmed that there are no records of leopards being seen within the Rashtrapati Bhavan premises. The official added that the animal spotted in the video was likely a common house cat, an assertion supported by the security team at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The incident occurred during the swearing-in ceremony of the Narendra Modi government, held in the forecourt of the brightly lit Rashtrapati Bhavan before an audience of 8,000 guests. The setting, with its columned corridors and grandeur, provided a dramatic backdrop that only heightened curiosity about the mysterious animal.

The video has elicited a range of reactions on social media platform ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), where users have shared both serious and humorous takes on the sighting. One user humorously remarked, “Free Safari Experience for Guests at Oath Ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan,” while another commented on the potential risk posed by a roaming leopard.

To put an end to the speculations, the Delhi Police issued a statement clarifying, “These facts are not true. The animal captured on camera is a common house cat. Please do not believe such frivolous rumors.”

The Delhi Police were also responsible for maintaining security during the event, ensuring the safety of all attendees amidst the unusual buzz created by the video.
