Starting a business depends on the kind of business you would like to do and this could either be an online business or running market business or selecting something very randomly, whichever business be it, manufacturing or be it retail business or distributorship, it depends on our mindset to survive and succeed and as the clichéd proverb goes 'early to bed, early to rise makes you healthy, wealthy and wise' a good amount of quality sleep makes a person healthy and fit and for that the role of bedsheets in sleeping peacefully is undeniable.

Today, we at Bizz Buzz got to speak to Deepanshu Upadhyay who told us that his father had started a business 15 years ago "we have been manufacturing bedsheets since years, in a small town Pilkhuwa, Uttar Pradesh Ghaziabad Tilakwa," said Deepanshu Upadhyay. "The business for bed sheets has always been a profitable one and if you see yourself interested in manufacturing, exporting, or retailing of bed sheets, then it is your calling," he added.

Basically, Deepanshu who joined the business as his father had started it, now has a stall at Shilparamam said "We did manage to get a stall at Shilparamam easily because his mother won the Sant Kabir Award and his uncle was had a permanent stall at Shilparamam since last 25 years."

"Our Bedsheets come in a wide range of variety depending upon their fabric and size. They are single-bed, double-bed, queen-sized, king-sized in terms of size and in terms of the fabric, they could be categorized into cotton, linen, silk, and several other materials," he said.

"We work on block printing bedsheets, we use our own prints our own manufacturing and we sell our bedsheets for reasonable prices. Other than this we sell Jaipuri bedsheets, ekat print and south print," added Deepanshu.

The method of making bedsheets is not easy as there are many things to keep in mind. "Colour and print are very important aspects to design a complete bedsheet, so during the work process we need to observe the workers keenly to see if they are working with dedication. We don't use machines as this is a handmade procedure."

Weather is very much connected to the colour used during the preparation of the bedsheets. If there is no proper sunlight the colour of the bedsheet gets misprinted, due to lack of dryness of the colour. Sudden change of seasons that is from a sunny weather it changes to rainy climate the misprints occurs on the bedsheets. Due to kora (plain cloth) there would be trouble in the process of making bedsheets. These damages would cause losses during the manufacturing process," continued Deepanshu.

Talking about the price range Deepanshu said: "We sell pure cotton which are daily rough use bedsheets and you get seven and a half to eight and a half size bedsheets with two pillow covers only for Rs 550 with colour guarantee."

"Transport is another important aspect for us as we have to commute our goods from one place to another, which costs too high for us. One parcel cost approximately Rs1,500 from Uttar Pradesh to Hyderabad, that is yearly the cost would be about four to five lakh," points Deepanshu

Discussing about business advertisements Deepanshu said: "Our business advertisement is been done by the government, and seeing that public comes here and this is how we get customers and sell our products."

Speaking of the financial aspects of his business Deepanshu says, to avail a loan a good credit score is very important. To take up a loan, one needs to run a small business and also supply pan card, GST number and many other details. In Uttar Pradesh we have many finance companies which help us financially. Like for example, there is a company called IFinance which helps in giving loans to workers as well as to people who run a small-scale business, who are in need of a loan. My friend there who makes and sells socks has two socks-making machines. He needed a loan of Rs1 Lakh. The authorities saw his machines and clicked photos of the machines and also took photocopies and other details like electricity bill, GST Number, bank statements and Pan card. They filled in other formalities and arranged for a loan for my friend. The loan is easily available approximately within two weeks.

"Since we do not have a proper address in Telangana, it is not possible to get a loan in Telangana. I have a bank account in Uttar Pradesh, but not in Telangana and its possible to get a loan in UP itself," he said.

Deepanshu who owns a stall at Shilparamam, said: "We have been running our bedsheet stall at Shilparamam for the last 15 years. We're making profits here that's the reason we are continuing our business here."

"I have a plan to start a new business and that is connected to ladies clothing as it runs well in the market. Women love shopping and they are always prepared to purchase anything if they fall for it and I feel that women clothing business will run very successfully. Kashmiri items also bring more profit and the business will start running smoothly. It may not be the same with bedsheet business as there is not much profit for this kind of business. Depending on situation I will start my new business very soon," expressed Deepanshu of his future plans, but "to start a business, I will not take any loan because if the business does not run properly, I might face very bad repercussions. I will save money on my own for starting the business and then only move forward to take the next step."
