Bigg Boss 19’s Farrhana Bhatt mourns Ali Khamenei’s death

Actor and Bigg Boss 19 runner-up Farrhana Bhatt has expressed deep grief over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, calling him a figure who will “live forever in people’s hearts” as tensions escalate in the Middle East.
Actor Farrhana Bhatt, who rose to prominence as the runner-up of Bigg Boss 19, has reacted emotionally to the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in a joint US–Israeli strike in Tehran over the weekend.
Following confirmation of Khamenei’s killing, Iran carried out retaliatory strikes across the Middle East, pushing the region into a wider conflict. Amid these developments, Farrhana spoke to Instant Bollywood, sharing her grief and sense of loss.
“Woh ek aisi shaksiyat hai jinko kabhi bhulaya nahi jaa sakta. He will be alive in our hearts, and definitely Allah unki shahadat qabool kare,” she said. Farrhana added that many Kashmiris were deeply affected by the news, describing widespread heartbreak and emotional distress.
She further revealed how personally shaken she was by the incident. “You won’t believe it, sehri ke baad main bilkul soyi nahi hoon. Aaj jab maine namaz padhi, I was so sad because this should not have happened,” she said, adding that for many people, Khamenei was seen as a “messiah” and would remain alive in collective memory.
Protests and reactions in India
Following Iran’s official confirmation of Khamenei’s death, protests were reported in parts of Jammu and Kashmir, including Srinagar and Bandipora. Demonstrators, many of them from the Shia community, were seen carrying pictures of Khamenei and banners expressing solidarity with Iran, while raising slogans against the attacks.
Khamenei’s legacy
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei came to power in 1989 after the death of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the architect of Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution. Initially perceived as a relatively low-profile cleric, Khamenei went on to rule Iran for more than 35 years.
During his tenure, he strengthened the clerical establishment and transformed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) into the central pillar of Iran’s political and military power. Under his leadership, the IRGC expanded its influence over Iran’s missile programme and developed a vast economic footprint across sectors such as energy, construction, telecommunications and finance.
As global reactions continue to pour in, Farrhana Bhatt’s comments have added to the mix of celebrity responses, highlighting how Khamenei’s death has resonated far beyond geopolitics and into popular culture and public sentiment.
