2 women bikers from Hyd take part in ‘Queens On The Wheel’

The 1,400-km biking event, organised by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, was flagged off at the Tribal Museum in Bhopal, and it will conclude on March 8 on the occasion of International Women's Day

Hyderabad: Two women bike riders from Hyderabad participated in the biking event ‘Queens On The Wheel’, which was organised by the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board. The event was flagged off at the Tribal Museum in Bhopal. After covering 1,400 kilometers through the top tourist destinations of the State, their trip will conclude at the same place on March 8 on the occasion of International Women's Day.

Around 25 women bike riders from across the country embarked on this journey. Rama Deekshita, Physician Assistant at Continental Hospitals, and Niharika Sharma, Software Engineer at HNMC, expressed their excitement to join the trip.

The route includes visits to Hyderabad, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Ujjain, Indore, Gwalior, Devaas, among others. Women riders will pass through prominent places such as the MP Tribal Museum, Bhopal to Sanchi, Chanderi, Kuno, Gwalior, Orchha, and Khajuraho.

Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Secretary of Tourism and Culture Department and Managing Director of MP Tourism Board, said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, the State is implementing a safe tourism project for women. The aim of this trail is to establish MP as a safe and empowering destination for women travelers while promoting adventure tourism and women empowerment.

He highlighted that during this journey, women bikers will experience the rich heritage, vibrant culture, and pristine wildlife areas of Madhya Pradesh. They will visit the first craft handloom tourism village developed in Pranpur near Chanderi, participate in rafting in Orchha, and explore luxury glamping at Kuno Forest Retreat developed near Kuno National Park. Other major attractions include the historical city of Gwalior, UNESCO World Heritage Site Khajuraho, and the Tribal Museum in Adiwasi Museum.

Dr SK Srivastava, Joint Director Adventure and Veerendra Khandelwal, Deputy Director Finance along with other officials from the Tourism Department were also present during the event.
