GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) concluded fiscal year 2025 with significant growth across all operational parameters, driven by sustained passenger flow, increased aircraft movements, and new international route additions.

According to data released by GMR Airports, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad handled 2.59 million passengers in March 2025, marking a 17 per cent year-on-year (YoY) increase. For the entire fiscal year (FY25), the airport saw 29.16 million passengers, up from 25.04 million in FY24 — a growth of over 16 per cent YoY.

Domestic and International Passenger Traffic

Breaking down the data for March 2025:

- Domestic travellers numbered approximately 2.2 million, reflecting a 17.5 per cent YoY increase.

- International footfall reached around 0.4 million, up 16.1 per cent YoY.

- Total monthly traffic stood at 2.6 million, translating to a 17.3 per cent growth over March 2024.

Quarterly trends (Q4 FY25) showed:

- Domestic traffic at 6.6 million, up 22.9 per cent YoY.

- International passengers at 1.2 million, growing 13.4 per cent.

- Combined traffic for the quarter reached 7.8 million, a rise of 21.3 per cent YoY.

Full-year passenger numbers further confirm the steady uptick:

- Domestic traffic closed at 24.4 million (up 17.6 per cent).

- International passengers totaled 4.7 million, reflecting a 12.6 per cent rise.

- Annual total: 29.2 million, growing 16.8 per cent YoY.

Notably, Hyderabad Airport has consistently crossed the 2.5 million passenger mark every month since November 2024. The highest single-day traffic was recorded on February 22, 2025, with 94,000+ passengers.

Aircraft Traffic on the Rise

Aircraft Traffic Movements (ATMs) also displayed strong growth:

- In March 2025, 18,398 aircraft movements were logged — a 15 per cent increase YoY.

- FY25 total ATMs stood at 199,349, up from 173,798 in FY24, marking a 15 per cent YoY growth.

New records were also set:

- Highest-ever single-day aircraft movements were registered on March 29, 2025, with 626 flights.

- Monthly movements in March totaled 18,000+, while Q4 FY25 ATMs reached 53,000+ — both marking over 17 per cent YoY growth.

In cargo operations, GHIAL managed 174,000 metric tonnes in FY25 — the highest volume ever handled by the airport and a 12.8 per cent YoY increase.

Hyderabad Airport currently connects to 96 international and domestic destinations.
