The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) plans to meet growing demand by increasing laddoo production to 3.5 lakh daily and recruiting additional Potu staff. Special arrangements are made for high-demand days and festivals.

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has taken steps to provide devotees with as many laddoos as they request. Additionally, preparations are underway to recruit additional Potu staff for the preparation of brownies and other offerings.
Currently, the TTD produces 3.5 lakh small laddoos, 6,000 big laddoos (Kalyanam laddoos), and 3,500 vadas daily. Besides catering to devotees at Tirumala, Swami Prasad (offerings) is distributed in local temples in cities such as Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Tirupati. Typically, one small laddoo is provided free to devotees after darshan. With an average of 70,000 visitors daily, about 70,000 laddoos are distributed for free, while devotees often purchase additional laddoos to share as Prasad with family and friends.
Meeting Demand on Special Days
While regular days see no shortage, the demand significantly increases during weekends, holidays, and festivals like Brahmotsavams. To address this, the TTD has planned to produce an additional 50,000 small laddoos, 4,000 large laddoos, and 3,500 vadas on such occasions.
To support this increase in production, the TTD will recruit 74 more Sri Vaishnavas and 10 non-Sri Vaishnavas, augmenting the current workforce involved in preparing and distributing Srivari Prasad.
