Zomato's CEO Deepinder Goyal Clears the Air on Viral Helmet-Less Woman Biking Video

Zomato's Managing Director and CEO, Deepinder Goyal, issued a clarification regarding the company's connection to a viral video featuring a woman riding a motorcycle without a helmet, dressed as a Zomato delivery partner in Indore. In a statement posted on X, Goyal emphatically stated, "Hey! We had absolutely nothing to do with this. We don't endorse helmet-less biking. Also, we don't have an 'Indore Marketing Head.'"

Goyal's response was prompted by a X user's post, which included a video of a woman posing as a Zomato delivery partner riding a high-end motorcycle while carrying the company's delivery bag. The X user with the handle @rajivmehta19 commented, "Indore #Zomato marketing head had this idea. He hired a model to drive around with an empty Zomato bag for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening. @Zomato is on a roll..."

The video had rapidly gained popularity, amassing over 15 lakh views. In his statement, Goyal also remarked, "This seems to be someone just 'free-riding' on our brand. Having said that, there's nothing wrong with women delivering food – we have hundreds of women who deliver food every day to earn a livelihood for their families, and we are proud of their work ethic."
