Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max Take on iPhone 17 Series: Key Features and Specs

Xiaomi has proudly unleashed the highly anticipated 17 series in a big step toward challenging Apple’s iPhone 17 series. Included in this series will be Xiaomi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max, which represent the pinnacle of hardware, innovatively placed with unique software features and design ingenuity to attract flagship buyers.

Dynamic Rear Display Magnify the Attention

One of the highlights of 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max is the 'Dynamic Back Display,' which is a secondary screen on the back of the device. This screen extends beyond the camera module, just like the camera plateau on the iPhone 17 Pro. Xiaomi tried this concept for the first time with the rear screen on the Mi 11 Ultra back in 2021, but this time they have paid plenty of attention to it: the 17 Pro comes with a 2.7-inch screen, and the 17 Pro Max offers a bit larger 2.9-inch screen, both having 120Hz refresh rate and 3,500 nits peak brightness.

This secondary display is far from just a silly gimmick—it puts touchscreen controls for music, countdown timers, notifications, messages, calls, and photograph viewfinder-cum-selfie display through an 8K lens using the main rear camera. Xiaomi also introduced a unique gaming case for the 17 Pro models, turning the device into a portable console.
