Xiaomi has introduced its latest flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, at a launch event in China. Packed with cutting-edge technology, the device features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 6.73-inch LTPO display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, offering a peak HDR brightness of 3,200 nits.

Pricing and Global Availability

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is priced at 6,499 yuan (approximately ₹78,024) in China. The company has confirmed that the smartphone will make its global debut on March 2 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. However, details regarding its availability in specific international markets, including India, are still awaited.

Advanced Camera System

Staying true to its legacy of advanced photography, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra boasts a quad-camera setup in a circular module reminiscent of Leica’s camera aesthetics. The highlight of this year’s model is the 200MP periscope camera with 4.3x optical zoom, replacing the previous model’s 5x zoom lens. The upgraded sensor and faster aperture significantly enhance low-light performance.

The remaining three cameras feature 50MP sensors, while the primary camera offers a fixed f/1.63 aperture, delivering superior image quality across various lighting conditions.

Performance and Battery

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra ensures top-tier performance for both everyday tasks and demanding applications. The device is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery, providing long-lasting power. Charging options include 90W wired charging and 80W wireless charging, though the device does not support the Qi2 wireless charging standard.

Additional Features

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra maintains its IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The brand is also launching its third-generation Photography Kit, an optional accessory that includes a camera grip with dedicated controls like a shutter button, video button, zoom lever, and exposure dial.

With its official global debut just around the corner, more information on pricing and availability in international markets will be revealed at MWC 2024.
