Tecno has presented what it calls the world’s slimmest 3D-curved smartphone, the POVA Slim 5G, at the IFA Showstoppers 2025 in Berlin. The event, which runs through September 9, marked the global debut of the device featuring a curved AMOLED display and a rear camera system framed by animated lights.
The smartphone carries dual rear cameras bordered by two circular LED rings, connected through a light strip. When activated together, the setup gives the appearance of a face with expressive eyes. Users can customize the lighting for different notifications. Options include variations such as only the upper ring lighting up to mimic a smiling expression or the lower ring activating to create a frowning look. A rounded flash is placed just beneath the connecting strip.
Tecno equips the main camera with a 50-megapixel sensor supported by AI-driven photo optimization. A FlashSnap feature assists in capturing moving subjects, while the Best Moment function selects the clearest image from multiple frames.
The phone’s interior adopts a honeycomb-inspired design, which allows compact placement of components while leaving additional room for the battery. The structure measures 5.95 millimeters in thickness. Its fiberglass back panel is designed to maintain surface strength and temperature stability. A vapor chamber paired with graphite layers enhances thermal management, particularly during extended gaming sessions.
On the front, the POVA Slim 5G is fitted with a 6.78-inch AMOLED curved screen offering a resolution of 2720 x 1224 pixels, 144Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness of 4,500 nits. The display is engineered for high responsiveness in both daylight and gaming conditions.
Powering the device is a 5,160 mAh battery with 45W fast charging. Tecno states the battery retains up to 80 percent capacity after five years of use. The system incorporates adaptive charging that adjusts to user habits to extend battery lifespan.
The device is currently being showcased at Berlin Messe during the IFA Showstoppers exhibition from September 6 to 9.
