WhatsApp Finally Lands on Apple Watch: Chat Without Your iPhone Now
Meta releases official WhatsApp app for Apple Watch. Read messages, reply via text or voice, react with emojis, and get call alerts directly on your wrist.

Meta proclaimed on Tuesday that WhatsApp is now a native app on the Apple Watch, which means users can access their chats and calls through their wrist instead of their iPhone.
Previously, Apple Watch holders could only see messages and respond with a few set replies. The new app for the watch is intended to offer a more in-depth use, including reading entire messages, answering with text or voice and participating in media exchanges.
Even though the small Apple Watch display naturally restricts some options, the app gives several features that were not available on the watch before:
Seeing whole messages: The users have the ability to read messages in full through their watch, thus not having to go to their iPhone for long messages.
Reactions through the phone: The responses for the messages can be given through voice dictation, writing or audio sending, thus enabling back-and-forth communication.
Use of emojis: Using emojis to reply gives the opportunity of quicker interaction over chats.
Media viewing: The watch interface can show pictures, stickers, and other media quite clear.
Access to an extended history of chats: One can scroll through previous messages to know the context of the ongoing discussion.
Call alerts: The watch will display incoming WhatsApp calls telling who is calling at once.
Meta claimed that all conversations through the Apple Watch are still safe and secured with WhatsApp’s usual end-to-end encryption.
The application is available for Apple Watch Series 4 and later versions that have watchOS 10 or superior.
The steps to launch the application are:
First, update the WhatsApp application on your connected iPhone; the watch app will be installed automatically.
In case it is not there, find “WhatsApp” in the Watch App Store on the iPhone and then install it manually.
To see the latest discussions, just open the app on the watch and then reply using the present input methods.
At present, the WhatsApp on Apple Watch is incapable of making video or audio calls, viewing Status updates, or file access because of platform restrictions.
