Nothing’s sub-brand CMF is gearing up to launch its next-gen smartphone, and the company has just dropped a teaser revealing the rear design of the upcoming CMF Phone 2. The device will feature a new matte-textured back panel, marking a noticeable design shift from its predecessor.

A New Look for CMF Phone 2

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), CMF teased a brief glimpse of the Phone 2's rear. The teaser shows plastic edges, a visible screw element, and a uniquely textured matte panel that catches the light at different angles. The bottom-left corner proudly displays the “CMF by Nothing” logo, which also appears to shift in tone depending on how the device is held.

While the exact material of the rear panel hasn't been confirmed, it could be plastic or aluminium. The original CMF Phone 1 came with a polycarbonate back, with a vegan leather option available in the blue color variant.

Triple Camera Setup and Accessory Point System

Leaks suggest that CMF Phone 2 may step up its photography game with a triple rear camera setup—an upgrade from the dual sensors on the first model, which featured a 50MP main and portrait sensor. The teaser seems to align with leaked renders, showing a similar left-hand section of the rear panel.

The new phone is also expected to support CMF’s signature Accessory Point system, allowing users to attach accessories like card holders, lanyards, or kickstands—a popular feature from the first phone that looks set to return.

Incremental Hardware Upgrades Expected

Though the company hasn’t shared full specs yet, the CMF Phone 2 is likely to offer modest upgrades over its predecessor. The CMF Phone 1 featured a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, and packed a 5,000mAh battery with 33W fast charging. Fans can expect similar or improved features in the upcoming model.

With design teasers and leaks building anticipation, CMF Phone 2 looks set to bring a stylish update to the budget smartphone segment—blending aesthetics with practicality. Stay tuned for more updates as Nothing gears up for the official launch.
