Apple has set September 9, 2025, for the unveiling of its next-generation iPhone lineup at the Steve Jobs Theatre in Cupertino. The launch will showcase the iPhone 17 series, which includes four models – iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and the newly introduced iPhone 17 Air.
For the Indian market, Apple announced that sales will open on September 19, following the usual pre-order window that starts on September 12.
The series brings a mix of upgrades and a new design strategy. The iPhone 17 Air, marketed as Apple’s thinnest iPhone to date, targets users seeking a lightweight device without losing high-end performance. Alongside, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to deliver advanced features including redesigned cameras, titanium frames, and the A19 Bionic processor.
All four devices will operate on Apple’s latest A19 Bionic chip, which promises faster speeds and improved battery management. The rollout of iOS 26 will coincide with the launch, introducing new AI-powered tools. These include smarter Siri interactions, camera enhancements, and features aimed at personalized user experiences.
Reports suggest Apple has worked on slimmer bezels and refined flat-edge styling across the series. The Pro variants are expected to use titanium construction to cut weight while boosting durability. Industry watchers believe this shift aligns with Apple’s effort to blend stronger materials with a sleeker form factor.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are likely to introduce a periscope telephoto lens, delivering extended optical zoom, higher resolution in low-light images, and support for 8K video. The standard iPhone 17 models are also tipped for notable upgrades, narrowing the gap with Apple’s premium versions.
Official prices are yet to be disclosed, but analysts estimate the iPhone 17 may start near Rs 79,900 in India. The iPhone 17 Pro could be priced upward of Rs 1,29,900, while the iPhone 17 Air is expected to fall between the base and Pro models, giving buyers a mid-tier premium option.
