Google has initiated the distribution of a new technology that will eventually enable file transfers from Android phones to iPhones via Quick Share and Apple’s AirDrop, commencing with the Pixel 10 series. This alteration is one of the most straightforward attempts to date to alleviate the problem users encounter when transferring data between different platforms.

The company declared that the improved Quick Share has now synchronized with AirDrop, making it possible for both users to transmit files in fewer steps. The change is initially applied on the Pixel 10 models, although support for other Android devices is intended as the development continues.

Google mentioned that the transfer has been safeguarded with security measures which have already been evaluated by external groups. The firm indicated that those verifications are still being done as the capability is rolled out to additional devices.

This action signals Google’s persistent development of features that aim to make Android and Apple coexistence more friendly. Previous initiatives included more extensive RCS support and notifying users about unknown Bluetooth trackers.

Google indicated that the partnership is just the beginning, stating that it will work towards enhancing the cross-device experience for Android users and minimizing the typical friction associated with sending files between different operating systems.
