Samsung has opened registrations for the third edition of its annual 'Walk-a-thon India' challenge, aimed at promoting fitness and its newly launched Galaxy Watch8. The 30-day event, exclusive to Samsung Health users, begins August 1 and concludes August 30.
Participants are required to complete 200,000 steps within the challenge period. Eligible users who reach the target can claim discount coupons worth up to Rs 15,000. Additionally, three participants will be randomly selected to receive the new Galaxy Watch8 smartwatch.
The campaign is accessible only to Samsung smartphone users in India. Progress can be monitored via the Samsung Health app, which provides a real-time leaderboard. Those who complete the step count must log into the Samsung Members app between September 5 and 30, 2025, to redeem their rewards. Meeting all the participation criteria is mandatory for qualification.
The Walk-a-thon coincides with the debut of Samsung's Galaxy Watch8, a smartwatch designed for continuous wear and powered by the new Exynos W1000 chipset. Available in 40mm and 44mm variants, the device features a 3,000-nit Super AMOLED display and is preloaded with Wear OS 6. It is the first smartwatch to integrate Google’s Gemini AI assistant.
The Galaxy Watch8 includes enhanced health tracking tools such as a Running Coach, sleep monitoring, stress analysis, and the industry's first Antioxidant Index — a sensor-based feature measuring carotenoid levels within seconds.
To participate, users must register in the Samsung Health app starting August 1. The challenge is part of Samsung’s ongoing effort to integrate wellness with technology and engage its smartphone user base.
