Vivo has made its move to invade the premium India market for smartphones with its X300 series launch that presently contains the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro. The company has given a confirmation that the X300 series in the devices will take place on December 2, 2025, with a live broadcast on Vivo’s YouTube and social media channels. Sales through the internet are expected to commence right after the event through Flipkart and Vivo’s official e-store, followed by access through retail stores.

The flagship series, X300 will be the marking point for Vivo’s first high-end release running on MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor. Additionally, phones will also be equipped with OriginOS 6 which is built on Android 16, an entirely different interface from FuntouchOS which was used by Vivo before. This move will directly put Vivo in competition with OnePlus 15, Oppo Find X9, and Samsung Galaxy S25 series.

Vivo has decided to sell its Zeiss 2.35x Telephoto Extender Kit in India. This accessory works through NFC and a special camera mode which helps the photographers to zoom in further thus giving them more possibilities in their work.

Rumor has it that the X300 might start at Rs 75,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB variant while the top 16GB + 512GB model being at Rs 85,999 will be the one. The X300 Pro with 16GB + 512GB only will have a price tag of around Rs 1,09,999. The Telephoto Extender Kit is expected to be priced at Rs 20,999. The official rates have not been declared yet.

The Vivo X300 is equipped with a 6.31-inch display with a flat surface and dust and water resistance according to IP68/IP69 standards. It comes in five colors: Halo Pink, Iris Purple, Mist Blue, and Phantom Black, plus a Summit Red variant that is exclusive to India. The X300 Pro has a larger display of 6.78 inches in Dune Brown and Phantom Black. Both models are framed in aluminum with rounded edges to provide a better grip.

The smartphones' visuals are using BOE made 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display panels which have 120Hz adaptive refresh rates. The X300 smartphone is capable of showing an astonishing 4,500 nits peak brightness which also supports HDR10+ while the Pro model utilizes the LTPO technology for showing colors and getting rid of the screen very smartly while extending battery life.

The performance of both gadgets is dependent on the Dimensity 9500 chipset which is made using 3nm technology. The memory can go up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and the storage can reach 1TB using UFS 4.1. The new OS Origin 6 will be AI driven and open the door to a stream of innovations such as real-time photo editing, gesture controls, etc. This also marks the end of the FuntouchOS interface.

The camera's quality has been the key point for the X300 series. The X300 camera setup at the back consists of a 200MP Samsung HPB main sensor, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultra-wide and a 50MP Sony LYT-602 periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera has 50MP resolution and can shoot videos in 4K.

The X300 Pro has a stronger camera with a 50MP Sony LYT-828 sensor to ensure better HDR and low-light performance, with a 50MP ultra-wide and a 200MP Samsung HPB periscope lens providing 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. The front-facing camera is 50MP with Zeiss T* coating.

The battery sizes vary, with the smallest being 6,040mAh for the X300 and the largest being 6,510mAh for the X300 Pro. The charging technology allows up to 90W for wired charging while wireless charging can go up to 40W. Both phones are capable of giving some battery via reverse wireless charging to the devices that are compatible.

With the help of its great camera, powerful chipset, and software improvements from OriginOS 6, the Vivo X300 series is likely to give a tough time to the well-known brands in the premium smartphone market in India.
