Vivo is preparing to introduce its flagship foldable smartphone, the X Fold 5, alongside the new X200 FE model in India on July 14. Following its initial unveiling in China, the X Fold 5 is expected to join the Indian premium foldable segment, facing stiff competition from Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7, which also arrives this week.
Industry insider Abhishek Yadav has leaked expected prices for both devices. According to the information, the X Fold 5 may debut at Rs 1,49,999 for a 16GB RAM and 512GB storage configuration. The foldable is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and is slightly more affordable than its predecessor, the X Fold 3 Pro, due to the older chipset.
Meanwhile, the Vivo X200 FE is projected to be available in two variants: Rs 54,999 for the 12GB + 256GB model and Rs 59,999 for the 16GB + 512GB version. The device is expected to arrive in multiple vibrant color options.
The X200 FE is likely to sport a 6.31-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. It is expected to be equipped with MediaTek's Dimensity 9300+ processor and run on Funtouch OS 15. Storage capacity may extend up to 512GB, and RAM could reach 12GB. Additional features include Zeiss optics and an IP68/IP69 rating for water and dust protection.
The X Fold 5, on the other hand, is expected to feature a thin form factor at 9.2mm thickness and weigh around 217 grams. It will likely carry a 6,000mAh battery—the largest among foldables so far—and support fast charging at 80W wired and 40W wireless speeds. Protection levels include IPX5 for dust and IPX8/IPX9 for water exposure.
