Microsoft started distributing Windows 11 version 25H2 at the end of September 2025, and it did so a day after launching a non-security update for versions 24H2 and its successor that was planned for September. Apart from the lot of improvements and system enhancements that the update offered, some users were still unable to see all the new features on their devices.
The tech giant is gradually making the entire feature set available to users, which means that some functions may be inactive even if your system displays the 25H2 version. The good news is that a quick command-line process can enable all the features for the users instantly.
To get the complete list of hidden updates, ensure that your computer has build 26200.6725 or 26100.6725 or later in place. Before you proceed, install the October 2025 security update or the September 2025 non-security patch. These steps will work for both Windows 11 25H2 and 24H2 versions.
Get ViveTool from GitHub and unzip it into the folder of your choice.
Press the Windows key and R simultaneously, type in cmd, and then open it with Ctrl + Shift + Enter for administrator mode.
Use the CD command to go to the ViveTool folder (for instance, CD C:-Vive).
Type the command:
vivetool /enable /id:57048226
Then restart your computer.
The features that come along with update KB5065789 and the October 2025 Patch Tuesday release will be activated after the reboot.
Among the new features, there are new and better text input shortcuts for en dash and em dash, hardware indicators that can be placed anywhere, the File Explorer menus are softer to navigate, and more Control Panel items get moved to the Settings app. Gamepad users are now able to open Task View by pressing a button, and the dual-monitor setups can either open the Notification Center from one of the screens which has been a kind of request for years.
According to Microsoft, another non-security update will be released soon, and it is anticipated that the new Start menu along with the other new look will be included in the update. Like in the past, the company will distribute the updates in batches, but the same technique will allow users to turn the updates on manually.
