The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a new version of its Aadhaar mobile app with many great features that are not only about the digital identity management but also about the protection of user data. With the new app, the user will enjoy a user-friendly interface, quicker navigation, and clever ways of transferring Aadhaar data safely.
The application of Aadhaar has been completely changed to pour in the above-mentioned beautiful features. The new application still has those lightweight, yet brilliant attributes that very old mobile phones can also load it up quickly. Major details of the customer like Aadhaar No., photo, and address are very clearly shown which reduces the disarray and makes it easy for first-timers to get around. The app is designed in such a manner that it will very clearly show your Aadhaar card digitally and prompt you to access the most essential features of the app instantly without any delays.
The app can be downloaded by the users from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You just need to enter your Aadhaar number and then an OTP will be sent to your mobile number that you have registered with. The app offers facial recognition, fingerprint authentication, or secure PIN as per the device type for logging in. After the setup is done, the Aadhaar details are retained in the device and there is no need to log in again.
One of the strongest points of the new app is security. Users are given the option to lock their Aadhaar profiles and only allow access through biometrics or a PIN. Furthermore, the app has a feature that logs activities indicating when and where the Aadhaar profile was accessed; this gives a user total visibility and control over his/her personal data.
This upgrade introduces selective data sharing, which allows users to disclose only what is necessary during verification processes. As an example, rather than revealing their entire Aadhaar details, users are allowed to furnish their name or QR code. Moreover, the app has incorporated an offline QR verification feature that enables immediate confirmation of identity and they do not have to hand over their physical cards which reduces the risk of exposing any sensitive data.
One device can now keep up to five Aadhaar profiles, which is a great convenience for families. Parents can register their children’s profiles while the details of their elderly family members can also be saved. The app works offline, so Aadhaar information is always available and it provides a secure, paperless solution for daily use.
