With the introduction of the Pad Go 2, a new tablet that focuses on everyday screen usage, online learning and entertainment, OnePlus has increased its product range in India. The All-New Pad Go 2 has aimed at visually upgrading the previous model concerning design, display, performance and battery amongst others.
The Pad Go 2 is designed and built to be an ultra-slim and minimal device. It is as thin as 6.8mm and weighs about 597 grams; therefore, it is very convenient for long usage; whether to be used in the hand or on the desk. A case is advised for the daily travel although the frame of the device is solid and feels good.
The front has a 12.2-inch Full HD+ LCD panel with a 2800×1980 resolution and a pixel density of 284ppi. The display has a refresh rate that varies up to 120Hz and it can get 900 nits bright at its peak. The panel is very good indoors and even under strong light conditions it is still usable.
With such a big display, streaming services, casual web surfing and online shopping are all supported. Fine text and product details are easily readable, thus, the reading of terms and conditions is even more pleasant when comparing different sellers or doing it before checkout. Along with that, OnePlus has integrated TÜV Rheinland Smart Care 4.0 certification and a 7:5 ReadFit aspect ratio, all manufactured to lighten blue light and thus to reduce eye fatigue that is typically associated with reading over long periods of time.
The tablet features USB Type-C port, Quad speaker setup, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual-band Wi-Fi 6 support. A SIM-enabled version is also available on the Shadow Black variant of 256GB storage. Face unlock is used for basic security purposes, but the lack of fingerprint scanner may be felt by some users.
MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra CPU energizes Pad Go 2, along with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB internal memory as storage options. The specifications are midway enhanced for daily tasks like browsing, streaming, and gaming in a light mode. The tablet can play large-screen silly games without any lag at all but it is not branded as a heavy-duty gaming device.
The tablet comes with Android 16 along with OxygenOS as the user interface. The interface always remains easy to navigate even if there are some pre-installed third-party apps. The Stylo pen for writing, sketching, and creating simple art is a OnePlus accessory that the company continues to support. A few apps from the Play Store have found ways to use the extra screen space effectively.
OnePlus has confirmed its long-term software support with Android version updates till 2030 and security. Patches extending through 2031 are also confirmed.
The Pad Go 2 features an 8MP camera on the rear side with an LED flash and another 8MP sensor for the front-facing camera. Image quality is functional rather than expressive, suitable for document scanning, online classes, and video conferencing. The two cameras can record videos in 1080p at 30fps.
The audio output is done by quad speakers that provide clear sound for movies, shows, and conference calls.
The tablet has a gigantic 10,050mAh battery, which is the core of its endurance. It lasts more than a day under standard use and supports the viewing of videos for an extended period of time without frequent battery charging. The standby performance lasts for a few days.
Super fast charging is made possible by the 33W SuperVOOC technology. Short charging sessions give very quickly usable screen time. The optional Stylo accessory has a battery life of 20 hours on a full charge.
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 comes across as a reliable tablet for home viewing, long trips, online learning and remote job applications. Its vast display, consistent performance and excellent battery life make it more of a daily use device rather than an experimental one. Although it lacks high-end biometrics and top-notch camera features, it still gives users what they expect most from their daily tablets - smooth and reliable performance.
The OnePlus Pad Go 2 offers three different configurations for purchase:
8GB RAM + 128GB (Wi-Fi only) – Rs 26,999
8GB RAM + 256GB (Wi-Fi only) – Rs 29,999
8GB RAM + 256GB (5G) – Rs 32,999
The product was launched in India on December 18.
