Step-by-Step Guide: Turn Google Search Live AI Mode On or Off

Google has made a huge change to the mobile search in India by presenting Search Live in AI Mode. This prominent update lets the consumers of Google talk and interact in real-time using the voice and camera inputs. India is the second country after the U.S. to get this feature, and both English and Hindi are supported.

This new feature allows the users to communicate with Google verbally and also to utilize the camera of their devices for taking pictures of things and places, while Google gives the user a spoken answer simultaneously. Search Live in AI Mode is not just another traditional search method: it is hands-free and at the same time it is also friendly to multitasking. The process of activating Search Live AI Mode is very simple:

Start the Google app on your mobile device.

Select the Live icon located below the search bar.

Select Unmute in order to switch on your microphone.

Select Mute to put replies on hold.

Utter “stop” in order to cut off Google’s answer at any time.

For camera-based queries:

Select the Video icon.

Direct the camera towards the object or scene you want to get AI-powered analysis for.

By selecting the Live icon again, the users can switch between the AI Mode and regular live conversations at any time they want. Moreover, Search Live can be accessed via Google Lens by choosing the Live option from within the app.

For those who favor conventional search, turning off AI Mode is just as easy:

Go to labs.google.com/search and you will see the instructions for disabling AI Mode. AI Mode when turned off reverts back to the normal interface of Google search where no AI response is given.
