Sony India on Thursday introduced its largest television to date, the BRAVIA 5 98-inch Mini‑LED TV, at a launch price of Rs 6,49,990.
The K‑98XR55A model delivers a 4K UHD (3840×2160) picture with Mini‑LED backlighting driven by Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR. The processor analyzes incoming signals and applies dynamic adjustments to color, contrast and clarity in real time, mirroring human visual perception.
The set’s XR Backlight Master Drive technology governs hundreds of LED zones individually, providing deep black levels alongside bright highlights and an expanded dynamic range. The display supports Dolby Vision HDR and offers IMAX Enhanced content for an immersive home‑theater experience.
On the audio front, Dolby Atmos decoding pairs with Sony’s Acoustic Multi‑Audio system to produce a three‑dimensional sound field. Studio‑calibrated picture modes preset image parameters for leading streaming services including Netflix, Prime Video and Sony Pictures Core.
Sony Pictures Core comes integrated, granting access to near‑4K Blu‑ray quality films and exclusive IMAX Enhanced titles. Users can browse the catalog directly through the TV interface.
The 98‑inch BRAVIA 5 is available now via Sony Centers, Sony Exclusive stores, ShopAtSC outlets and major online retailers. Purchase benefits include a three‑year warranty, up to Rs 25,000 cashback on select credit cards and an EMI plan starting at Rs 19,995 per month for a limited period.
Tech buyers seeking a cinema‑style display will find the new BRAVIA 5 a flagship offering in the Indian premium TV segment.
