Snapchat introduces paid Memories storage; users can save up to 5GB for free or upgrade to larger storage plans.

Snapchat is set to introduce paid plans for Memories storage after offering free, unlimited access for over a decade. Users will still be able to store up to 5GB for free, but larger storage will require a subscription. Here’s everything you need to know about the new plans and how to save your memories without paying.
Snapchat Memories Storage Plans
Snapchat’s new Memory Storage plans will be available globally for a fee, similar to Google Cloud or iCloud. Users can continue storing content within the free 5GB limit, but exceeding this will require either exporting content or subscribing to a paid plan.
The paid plans include:
100GB: $1.99/month (~₹165)
256GB: $3.99/month (~₹330)
5TB: $15.99/month (~₹1,400)
Currently, users exceeding 5GB can keep their Memories for 12 months temporarily, but data may be deleted if not upgraded after this period.
How to Save Your Snapchat Memories for Free
There are two main ways to preserve your Snapchat memories:
1. Download Directly to Your Camera Roll
Snapchat allows downloading up to 100 photos or videos at a time. For large collections, this process must be repeated in batches.
Steps to Download:
Tap the “Memories” icon next to the camera button.
Select “Select” at the top right and choose up to 100 memories.
Tap the “Share” icon at the bottom right.
Choose “Download” to save the selected memories to your device.
2. Download Your Snapchat Data via Email
This method is better for users with thousands of photos and videos.
Steps to Download Data:
Open Snapchat and go to your profile.
Tap “Settings” → scroll down to “My Data” under Privacy Controls.
Select “Memories and Other Media”, HTML Files, and JSON Files (other options optional).
Choose the time period or “All time” to download all memories.
Confirm your email and click “Submit”. Snapchat will email your data for download.
With these options, users can continue saving their Snapchat memories even after the introduction of paid storage plans.
