Should You Wait for Samsung S26 Ultra or Buy iPhone 17 Pro Max Now?

Samsung is expected to introduce the Galaxy S26 Ultra in the beginning of 2026 and it is going to be fully loaded with developments even more so than the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The difficulty now for the consumers is either to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra or to take the plunge into getting an iPhone 17 Pro Max?

Reports suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have a net price of approximately Rs. 1,59,999 in the Indian market. The smartphone is likely to come loaded with 12GB of RAM and a 1TB storage option. In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which is tagged at the highest price in the whole lineup of Rs. 1,49,900, is currently offered for 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version.

S26 Ultra is said to inherit the design of its predecessor but in a slimmer and lighter form of about 7.9mm thickness. In vicinity, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is a bit thicker at 8.75mm, but its new color options, larger camera module, and redesigned back panel are contributors to its attractiveness.

For the screen, it is believed that Samsung would go with a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display with 120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits peak brightness. When it comes to display technology, the iPhone 17 Pro Max features the same 6.9-inch ProMotion OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 3000-nit peak brightness, hence both of them are capable of delivering the same standard of high-definition imaging.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra might be accompanied by the 12GB RAM plus Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset that puts Snapdragon ahead in terms of performance.
