Samsung is reportedly gearing up for a major foldable phone launch this year, including its first-ever tri-fold device. According to recent reports from Android Headlines, the company is expected to introduce the Galaxy G Fold alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 in July 2025.

The Galaxy G Fold is rumored to feature a unique tri-fold design with a large display that can transform from a smartphone to a tablet. This move would mark a significant leap in foldable technology, with Samsung aiming to set a new standard in the industry.

What We Know About Samsung’s Triple-Fold Design

The tri-fold phone, likely named the Galaxy G Fold, was first teased during the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) in October 2023. Samsung has continued refining the technology, with the device expected to have an advanced hinge mechanism and cutting-edge display tech, although specifics are still scarce.

Unlike Huawei’s Mate XT, which folds in an S or Z shape, the Galaxy G Fold is rumored to fold inwards from both sides, giving it a G-shaped appearance. This design could offer greater durability and longevity compared to other foldable devices. The phone is expected to have a large 9.96-inch unfolded display, and when folded, it will stand at 6.54 inches in height. While the phone is expected to be thicker than its counterparts like the Galaxy Z Fold, it should remain relatively lightweight.

A Limited Initial Release

In terms of availability, Samsung’s tri-fold phone may not be widely available right away. The company is reportedly planning a limited release initially, with full-scale production ramping up in April. This aligns with a rumor that Samsung will begin purchasing components soon, followed by mass manufacturing in the following months. The launch in July will likely focus on a small batch of devices, given the high anticipated price point.

Specifications and Features

Leaked reports suggest that the Galaxy G Fold will feature a non-under-display camera setup, opting for a hole-punch cutout on the main screen instead. While this decision may slightly detract from the sleek look of the device, the trade-off might be worth it for improved camera quality.

Despite earlier reports suggesting a 2026 release, it now seems that Samsung is moving up the launch timeline for its tri-fold phone to this year. With groundbreaking design and cutting-edge technology, the Galaxy G Fold could become a game-changer in the foldable market.

Stay tuned for more updates as Samsung prepares to unveil this innovative device in the coming months.
