Samsung has initiated the phased rollout of its latest custom interface, One UI 8, built on the Android 16 platform. This update incorporates key Android 16 features while adding Samsung’s own enhancements across smartphones and tablets.
Samsung’s One UI 8 introduces support for Android 16’s Live Updates, allowing real-time tracking for compatible apps such as ride-hailing, delivery, and shopping, directly on the lock screen via the Now Bar. The update also integrates Advanced Protection, aimed at blocking potentially harmful content from apps, websites, and calls. Additionally, a new security mechanism has been added to lock down devices even after factory resets in case of theft.
