Samsung has come back with its Internet browser for Windows computers, thereby the company's ecosystem is no longer limited to mobile. The company has been very low-key in launching the PC version of Samsung Internet in beta for users located in South Korea and the United States while at the same time confirming that the broader rollout in other markets is coming up soon.
Those who want to get the beta version must sign up on the Samsung Developer Portal with their existing Samsung account. Even if someone is outside the area where the beta is being offered, they can still have the browser by downloading an executable file and installing it manually. The software will run smoothly only if the user has Windows 10 version 1809 or higher or Windows 11.
The Windows version delivers the same major privacy and synchronization settings as those found in Samsung’s Android version. Smart Anti-Tracking is an agent that is able to prevent the tracking cookies' incoming and outgoing traffic and a Privacy Dashboard is there to present the data of blocked trackers and site access patterns.
One of the main attractions of this release is the point of Galaxy AI's inclusion as a Browsing Assist feature. It can not only summarize webpages, translate, and offer real-time assistance — it is also targeting to connect desktop browsing with Samsung’s AI ecosystem. Furthermore, the browser does perform a very seamless synchronization job with Galaxy smartphones enabling users to share bookmarks, browsing history, open tabs, and Samsung Pass credentials across all devices that are connected.
