Samsung has temporarily paused the global rollout of its One UI 7 update, which began last week for several of its flagship models, including the Galaxy S24 series. While the company has officially confirmed the suspension, it has not provided specific details behind the decision.

In a statement to Android Authority, the South Korean tech giant said it aims to deliver the “best possible experience” to its users and will announce a revised release date soon.

Reports suggest that the rollout encountered a serious bug on devices in South Korea, prompting Samsung to halt the update globally as a precautionary measure.

One UI 7, based on Android 15, was designed to introduce a range of AI-driven features to models like the Galaxy S24 series, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6. The update rollout, which began on April 7, was already behind schedule, given that Android 15 was made available to developers seven months ago.

It’s important to note that Samsung’s newly launched Galaxy S25 series comes pre-installed with One UI 7 and remains unaffected by this issue.

Meanwhile, Google is expected to release the first preview of Android 16 in June this year.
