The first-ever triple-folding smartphone from Samsung is coming next month, and it will be a real upgrade in display, battery, and camera capabilities. According to the leaks, the device that is probably going to be called Galaxy Z TriFold, will display the latest of Samsung’s innovations in the foldable technology sector.
Evan Blass, a credible tech obscurity, tweeted on X about the new foldable that it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but the specific model is yet to be confirmed. Battery capacity details are also coming out, the first report is mentioning a 5,437mAh battery, however, the second one is claiming a 5,600mAh battery that has support for 25W wired charging, Fast Wireless Charging 2.0, and Wireless PowerShare. No matter what, it is more than the 4,400mAh battery of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is a hint for the user longer endurance.
The display specifications seem to be very bold. The tri-fold design is said to have a 6.5-inch outer screen that is capable of 2,600 nits peak brightness while the internal unfolded screen measures 10 inches with a maximum of 1,600 nits. It is thought that each fold area will be different in thickness—from 3.9mm to 4.2mm—perhaps producing a thinner profile than Samsung’s currently main foldables when they are all the way open.
Camera upgrades are also part of the discussion. The leaks point toward a 200MP rear sensor, which is a clear signal to the market that Samsung is serious about higher resolution photography with foldable devices.
If the rumors are to be believed then Samsung has a plan to launch the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 5 during a special event. Not only specifications but also pricing details are anticipated to be revealed. The initial price range for the device in South Korea is set at KRW 4.4 million (approximately Rs. 2,66,000). Production at the start might be limited; just 20,000 to 30,000 units are expected, which portrays Samsung aiming at technological superiority rather than wide public acceptance.
