Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold First Look: Foldable Innovation Hits Market

Samsung's first smartphone with the triple-fold feature, the Galaxy Z Trifold, has been launched at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) CEO Summit in South Korea, based on a report by Chosun.
Photographs from the event show two versions of the gadget: one that is entirely unfolded and the other that is folded. The unfolded version looks like a tablet with a big 10-inch inner display and a right-side punch hole for the selfie camera.
The folded Trifold seems to be more of a standard one, resembling the Galaxy Z Fold 7, with a 6.5-inch outer display and a similar punch hole for selfies. The first photos posted by the informant Ice Universe imply that the inner display may have larger bezels than Samsung's earlier foldable devices.
According to leaks, the mechanism of the Z Trifold will be such that it will be an inward-folding one, with the left and right sides folding upon the central display. This feature enables the shield of sensitive screen parts from getting damaged outside. Samsung has a different strategy than that of Huawei's, which is the Mate X savvy tri-folding phone.
To keep the power of the device up, the Z Trifold is likely to feature three individual batteries, one for each section of the panel, thus allowing for the total capacity to be the biggest.
The rear configuration is likely to consist of a 200-megapixel primary sensor, an ultra-wide, and a telephoto lens as the core of a triple-camera system. The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor will probably be responsible for driving the device, which will guarantee performance at the flagship level.
Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Z Trifold before year-end in select markets, including South Korea and China. The company has not confirmed an India launch yet. Early pricing estimates place the device at approximately $3,000 (around Rs 2,64,000), which positions it above the Huawei Mate XTs, currently starting at 17,999 yuan (Rs 2,22,056).
