Samsung has increased production of its Galaxy Z Fold 7 smartphone at the Noida plant after pre-orders exceeded 2.1 lakh within 48 hours, depleting stocks in top-tier Indian cities.
Sales for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 opened on July 25, following pre-bookings that began on July 9. The company reported that demand has outpaced initial supply across major metropolitan regions, including New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.
In response to the shortfall, Samsung India has initiated accelerated manufacturing at its domestic facility. Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President of Samsung India’s MX Business, confirmed that demand is strong across both online platforms and physical retail stores.
“We are working to increase output to ensure faster delivery to consumers who missed out during the initial sale window,” Pullan stated in a press briefing on Wednesday.
The foldable phone, running Android 16, integrates Galaxy AI and features a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset clocked at 4.47 GHz. The device offers a 200MP triple-camera array and dual 10MP front cameras on the cover and main screens.
