Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Leak: Major Camera Upgrades and Thinner Design

Samsung has been making headlines with the rumors about the camera being an important factor for their next foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is said to be released in mid-2026. The initial reports claim that the company is working on upgrading both telephoto and ultrawide cameras, with the 200-megapixel primary sensor that was a part of Galaxy Z Fold 7 being the only one to stay.

GalaxyClub’s sources reporting about the matter state that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 will have the same main camera as the one previously used but it will have secondary lenses that are upgraded. The specifications for the telephoto camera may go up to 12 megapixels supporting 3x optical zoom and the 50-megapixel ultrawide sensor may be the major replacement for the 12-megapixel sensor that was used on the Fold 7. The front-facing camera might still be 10 megapixels and no under-display camera is anticipated to be there.

Not long ago, a GSMA listing suggested a possibly wider version of the Fold 8. Speculations about the device's launch as early as July 2026 are made by the insiders but the specifications might still be altered before the official announcement.

The foldable phone's design is forecasted to undergo changes as well. Some reports even say that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 may be thinner and lighter than its predecessor by 10%. The return of S Pen support which was removed in the Fold 7 to keep the design thinner is anticipated.
