Samsung is reportedly getting closer to launching its much-anticipated Galaxy Tri-Fold smartphone. During a recent media interaction, TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, indicated that the tri-fold phone may become a reality sooner than expected.
Roh mentioned that Samsung is already capable of producing tri-fold devices and will bring them to market once consumer demand reaches a viable level. This new form factor would mark a significant expansion in the company’s foldable portfolio, currently dominated by the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip models.
Samsung has previously showcased tri-folding display concepts like the “Flex S” and “Flex G” at various events, hinting at the direction of future innovation. However, the company has been cautious about launching such a device commercially, focusing instead on building demand and ensuring a refined user experience.
Although no exact launch date was confirmed, industry speculation suggests that Samsung could unveil the tri-fold smartphone after the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 — possibly in late 2025 or early 2026.
As the foldable phone market becomes more competitive, Samsung’s introduction of a tri-fold model could further solidify its dominance in the segment while offering consumers a new level of multitasking and display flexibility.
