Samsung is ready for the next batch of the Galaxy series' hotcakes, the S26 lineup is anticipated to land in early 2026. The rumors have already started, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra is among the first ones to get attention due to its radical changes in a camera design that seems to be a new beginning.
OnLeaks on X (previously Twitter) distributed pictures and a very short clip of the S26 Ultra's dummy. The curves of the phone do match those of the S25 Ultra closely, but the back camera section gets a leading change that is said to be inspired by the Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 7. There are three prominent sensors inside the camera island in the provided images, which indicate an upscale in imaging abilities.
Samsung has not yet publicly announced the 2026 release date, but it is highly likely that the company will follow a similar launch schedule as in 2025 when S26 series was released in February. The lineup is predicted to consist of three variants: Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra.
The S26 Ultra is expected to come with a 6.9 inches AMOLED display having 120 Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which is tailor-made for the Galaxy devices, is going to support the device. It is rumored that the highest-end variant would come with a whopping 16 GB of RAM and a massive 1 TB of internal storage.
Samsung is putting all its eggs in one basket; the one for the camera of the S26 Ultra. The quad-camera setup is said to boast a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, and a 10MP extra sensor. This hardware, in conjunction with One UI 8.5 on Android 16, is expected to have a considerable regenerative power against the last generation.
The battery lifetime is anticipated to get a boost, as a 5000mAh capacity will support wired charging of 60W, which is higher than the S25 Ultra’s 45W, and also 20W wireless charging support.
