Samsung has been targeting to organize its Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in February, which is a shift from its usual schedule of January, as per PhoneArena and South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency. The event is very likely to take place in San Francisco, California, where the company is going to unveil the next-generation Galaxy S26 series smartphones. To provide a reference point, the launch of the Galaxy S25 series took place on January 22 this year.

The Galaxy S26 series will most probably include three models: the base model Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26 Plus, and the high-end Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung has earlier this year showcased the Exynos 2600, the processor, which is built on the 2nm node, and is speculated to be the UPS of S26 models in the select markets, while the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will continue to be used across the other models.

The Galaxy S26 Ultra has reportedly been spotted in the database of the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) which solidifies the usage of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 CPU in the device. The handset is expected to sport a 6.9-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It can be powered by the One UI 8.5 platform based on the Android 16 operating system.

The Ultra model is going to get new features with a pill-shaped rear camera module which will take inspiration from the Galaxy Fold series, replacing the individual floating camera rings.

The camera hardware is going to consist of:

200MP primary sensor

50MP ultra-wide lens

50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom

12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom

12MP front-facing camera

A 5,000mAh battery that will allow 60W wired fast charging and Qi2 wireless magnetic charging will probably be the case for the smartphone.

Other specifications consist of:

RAM: Up to 16GB

Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus

The standard models of Samsung, the Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus, are expected to implement a dual-chip strategy. Variants using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 could be available in some areas, while the Exynos 2600 processor could be in others.

The Galaxy S26 will likely come with a 6.3-inch FHD+ display at 120Hz refresh rate, a bit larger than the last generation. The camera setup may comprise a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 12MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, plus a 12MP camera for selfies. The battery capacity of the entry-level smartphone is rumored to be 4,300mAh.

The Galaxy S26 Plus might have the same camera but it will probably come with 6.7-inch QHD+ display at 120Hz refresh rate and a bigger 4,900mAh battery.

At the Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event in February, Samsung will likely disclose the entire lineup as well as the priced among the new series that are displayed, supported by battery and camera innovations.
