Samsung has begun releasing the One UI 8 beta update to a wider range of Galaxy smartphones, expanding beyond its initial debut with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in July. The Android 16-based software, first launched alongside the Fold 7, will reach additional models in the coming weeks, ahead of its full public release later in 2025.
Owners of eligible devices can now register for the One UI 8 public beta through the Samsung Members app. The beta provides early access to new features and improvements before the stable version arrives. This rollout also marks Samsung’s attempt to resolve several performance concerns reported with One UI 7.
Eligible devices for the current beta include:
* Galaxy S24
* Galaxy S24 Plus
* Galaxy S24 Ultra
* Galaxy S24 FE
* Galaxy Z Fold 6
* Galaxy Z Flip 6
How to join the One UI 8 beta:
1. Install the latest Samsung Members app on your Galaxy device.
2. Log in using your Samsung account.
3. Locate and tap the “One UI 8 Beta Program” banner.
4. Select “Register” and follow the on-screen instructions to download and install the beta build.
The update focuses on user experience enhancements and AI-driven tools. Samsung says One UI 8 will adapt to user habits, delivering context-aware suggestions to streamline daily tasks. The update also incorporates upgraded AI data handling for improved privacy and flexibility.
The One UI 8 Watch edition beta has also started for multiple Galaxy Watch models, with a similar set of AI-focused improvements.
Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy S25 series, set to include four variants, will receive the stable Android 16 with One UI 8 in September 2025. While no specific date has been announced, the update is expected to roll out within weeks of that timeline.
