Samsung has expanded its Galaxy A-series lineup in India with the introduction of the Galaxy A17 5G, its slimmest and most affordable smartphone equipped with AI-powered features. The device, unveiled on Wednesday, targets buyers seeking advanced camera technology and AI functions at a competitive price point.
The Galaxy A17 5G is available starting today through retail stores, Samsung Exclusive Stores, Samsung’s official website, and leading e-commerce platforms. Buyers can choose between Blue, Grey, and Black colour options.

The smartphone features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display designed for clear visibility in various lighting conditions. It weighs 192 grams and has a 7.5 mm profile, making it the thinnest in its price segment.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A17 5G with AI-driven features such as Circle to Search with Google and Gemini Live. It also introduces an India-specific on-device Voice Mail feature, enabling callers to leave messages when calls are missed. The device will receive six years of security updates and six Android OS upgrades.
The rear setup includes a 50MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilisation, a 5MP ultra-wide sensor, and a macro lens. The OIS technology, branded as the “No Shake Cam,” is designed to deliver stable videos and clear images.
Powered by Samsung’s 5nm Exynos 1330 processor, the device includes a 5000mAh battery and supports 25W wired charging. The handset is built with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection and has an IP54 rating for resistance to dust and splashes.
Priced below Rs 20,000 for its base variant, the Galaxy A17 5G is positioned as a feature-rich smartphone option during the festive shopping season, combining AI tools, extended software support, and a stabilised camera system.
