Samsung has released the Galaxy A17 5G in India, expanding its mid-range lineup with built-in AI tools and extended software support. The phone is now listed for sale through Samsung’s official website and major online platforms.
The Galaxy A17 5G is available in three configurations. The base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs 18,999, while the 8GB + 128GB option costs Rs 20,499. The top-end variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is set at Rs 23,499. These price points align with earlier market leaks shared by tipsters.
Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A17 5G with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display running at a 90Hz refresh rate, shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The device is powered by the Exynos 1330 processor and offers storage options up to 256GB. The handset measures 7.5mm in thickness and weighs 192 grams.
For photography, the phone carries a dual-camera setup on the rear, featuring a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP macro camera. A 13MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. A 5,000mAh battery supports 25W wired charging.
Out of the box, the Galaxy A17 5G runs Samsung’s One UI 7 built on Android 15. Samsung is promising six generations of OS upgrades and security updates for the device. AI-driven features include Google’s Gemini suite, Circle to Search, and other smart tools integrated into the software experience.
The launch comes ahead of Samsung’s September Galaxy Event, scheduled just before Apple’s iPhone 17 unveiling. The company is expected to highlight new AI-powered Galaxy Tab S models and introduce the rumored Galaxy S25 FE.
