Rockstar Confirms GTA VI Release: Launch Set for November 19, 2026

Rockstar Games has officially announced the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI, revealing that the much-anticipated game will be available worldwide on November 19, 2026. The new timeline shifts the launch from the previously anticipated May 2026 period but still keeps the game in the year 2026, thus escaping a late 2027 release.

Through a formal notice, Rockstar named quality of development as the ground for the delay. The company stressed the importance of internal standards over hastening production to meet the earlier deadline. No further changes to the release schedule have been reported.

The online discussions had pointed towards the possibility of a GTA VI delay until 2027, supported by rumors and leaks. However, Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive have not confirmed these assertions, keeping November 2026 as the official date.

The upcoming Grand Theft Auto series will transport players to a present-day version of Vice City along with the fictitious territory of Leonida. The marketing campaign and videos have focused on the two main characters, one of whom is Lucia, the franchise’s first female lead in a core GTA game. It is assumed that the plot will shift between characters, using a format similar to GTA V.

GTA VI, upon its release, will be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. A PC version has not been declared yet, which is in line with Rockstar’s pattern of directing consoles first before expanding to other platforms the availability.
