Electronic Arts (EA) has made it official that the rollout of RedSec, the fresh battle royale mode in Battlefield 6, is today at 08:00 PT (08:30 pm IST). RedSec will be completely free-to-play, so gamers can directly partake in the Battlefield 6 saga without having to buy the main Battlefield 6 game, which got released worldwide on October 10. The launch is simultaneous with the Battlefield 6 Season 1 rollout.

The only thing EA has given out is the information that RedSec will be a free-to-play game. However, gamers can look forward to regular battle royale gaming, which includes getting on large maps, finding guns and gear, and fighting to be the last one left alive. How RedSec will be merged with the main Battlefield 6 is still under wraps, and this has led to the unclarity of some areas, such as how progress will be made and what features will be common across the modes.

It is expected that the system requirements for RedSec will be the same as for Battlefield 6. For Windows PC users, the minimum requirements are Windows 10, Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 CPUs, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT graphics, DirectX 12 support, broadband internet, and at least 55 GB of free storage. Recommended specifications are Windows 11, Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia RTX 3060Ti or AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics, DirectX 12, broadband connection, and 80 GB storage.

The action of Battlefield 6 takes place in the years 2027 and 2028 and depicts Dagger 13, a squad of Marine Raiders that are assigned to the task of taking down the private military company Pax Armata. The game then takes the players to different places around the world like the Sahara Desert, Gibraltar, and New York City. The missions are about keeping the world powers in a state of equilibrium after NATO has fallen, and the gameplay is formulated in such a way that it teaches players the fundamental mechanics through narrative-driven objectives.

RedSec ranks Battlefield 6 as a concurrent release to the Activision's Call of Duty: Warzone, thus entering a battlefield royale market that is getting very crowded and that is free-to-play. EA has also extended its partnership in the tech field by forming a new alliance with Stability AI to speed up 3D content creation and game design.

Gamers, who are waiting for RedSec, will have their "first" access to the game without any extra purchase today.
