Redmi Note 15, Realme 16 Pro, Oppo Reno 15 Pro lead 12 major smartphone launches in January 2026
The Indian smartphone market is kicking off 2026 with a packed launch calendar. January will see the debut of nearly a dozen new smartphones across price segments, with brands focusing on flagship-grade cameras, powerful processors and record-breaking battery capacities.
From Redmi and Realme to Samsung, Vivo and Poco, upcoming devices promise features such as 200-megapixel cameras, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and Dimensity 9-series chipsets, ultra-fast charging and batteries going up to 9,000mAh. Notably, Samsung is also expected to unveil its first-ever tri-fold smartphone in India.
Here’s a look at the major smartphone launches expected in January 2026:
Redmi Note 15 series (January 6)
Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi will kick off the year with the Note 15 series in India on January 6. The phone is expected to feature a 108MP primary camera, a 20MP selfie shooter and a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device could be the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, paired with a 5,520mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging. Prices are likely to range between ₹18,000 and ₹22,000.
Realme 16 Pro: 200MP camera focus
Realme is set to introduce the Realme 16 Pro under its popular Number series. Expected to arrive in ‘Master Gold’ and ‘Orchid Purple’ colour options, the smartphone could feature a MediaTek processor, up to 12GB RAM and a large 6,500mAh battery. The highlight is tipped to be a 200MP primary camera.
Realme 16 Pro+: 7,000mAh battery powerhouse
Launching alongside the Pro model, the Realme 16 Pro+ is expected to pack a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. As per certification listings, the device may house a massive 7,000mAh battery and a 200MP camera, with pricing expected around ₹40,000.
Realme GT8: Built for gaming enthusiasts
Realme’s flagship GT8 could arrive in India later this month, powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. The phone is expected to feature a 1.5K OLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and a huge 8,000mAh battery, making it a strong contender for gamers and power users.
Oppo Reno 15: Compact phone with fast charging
Oppo is bringing the Reno 15 to India after its China debut. The compact device sports a 6.32-inch AMOLED display and is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset. It could pack a 6,200mAh battery with 80W fast charging, a 200MP triple rear camera setup and a 50MP front camera.
Oppo Reno 15 Pro: Premium cameras and wireless charging
The Reno 15 Pro will offer a larger 6.78-inch display and the same Dimensity 8450 processor. Camera hardware includes a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens and a 50MP telephoto camera. The phone is also tipped to support 50W wireless charging alongside a 6,500mAh battery.
Vivo V70: Flagship-grade performance
Vivo’s upcoming V70 is expected to debut with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The smartphone may feature a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display, a 6,500mAh battery and 50MP cameras on both the front and rear.
Vivo X300 FE: Compact and powerful
Vivo may introduce an ‘FE’ variant to its premium X300 lineup. The Vivo X300 FE is expected to sport a 6.3-inch OLED display, triple 50MP rear cameras, a 50MP selfie camera, and a 6,500mAh battery with 90W fast charging.
Poco X8 Pro: Big battery, fast charging
Poco’s X8 Pro could arrive with a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset and an enormous 8,500mAh battery. The device is tipped to support 100W fast charging and feature a 50MP dual-camera setup.
Poco X8 Pro Max: 9,000mAh battery monster
For the first time, Poco may launch a ‘Pro Max’ model. The X8 Pro Max is rumoured to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, a Dimensity 9-series processor and a 1.5K LTPS display.
Poco M8 and M8 Pro: Budget segment upgrades
Poco’s M-series will expand with the M8 and M8 Pro. The M8 is expected to feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and a 5,520mAh battery, while the M8 Pro could come with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, a 6,500mAh battery and even 100W fast charging.
Samsung Galaxy Z Tri-Fold: Samsung’s boldest phone yet
Samsung is expected to make headlines with its first-ever tri-fold smartphone. The Galaxy Z Tri-Fold could feature a 6.5-inch display when folded and expand into a nearly 10-inch tablet-like screen. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it may offer 16GB RAM and a 200MP main camera. The device is expected to carry a premium price tag.
