Redmi 15 5G India launch on Aug 19: Specs, design, battery details

Xiaomi confirmed that the Redmi 15 5G will debut in India on August 19. Ahead of the release, the company outlined the phone’s design, battery capacity, and key hardware specifications.

The Redmi 15 5G will arrive in three finishes—Frosted White, Sandy Purple, and Midnight Black. The device has been designed with a slim profile, according to Xiaomi.

The phone is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor. It will feature a 6.9-inch FHD+ display supporting a 144Hz refresh rate. The panel is certified by TUV Rheinland for low blue light, flicker-free use, and circadian-friendly viewing.

For photography, the device carries a dual-camera system with a 50MP main sensor paired with a 2MP unit. An 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. The software supports functions such as AI Erase, AI Sky, and a selection of film-style filters.

Power will come from a 7,000mAh battery. It includes 33W wired charging and 18W reverse charging. Xiaomi says the phone can deliver over 55 hours of Spotify music playback, around 23 hours of YouTube streaming, and nearly 18 hours of short video viewing. A 1 percent hibernation mode is said to sustain standby time for more than 13 hours. The device also carries IP64 protection and Dolby-certified audio.

The smartphone runs on HyperOS, based on Android 15. Xiaomi committed to two major OS upgrades and four years of security patches. Gemini AI integration and Circle to Search are among the built-in features.
