Realme will officially present its premium flagship device, the GT 8 Pro, in India today, thereby making it the second smartphone to use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor after OnePlus 15. The launch event will also showcase the Realme GT 8 Pro Dream Edition which is inspired by racing.
The GT 8 Pro comes to replace the GT 7 Pro from last year and to bring the Ricoh Imaging collaboration in. That partnership means that there is a special Ricoh GR-like camera with dual focal lengths of 28mm and 40mm along with five Ricoh GR color tones.
Taking pictures is no less than a great feature for the GT 8 Pro. A 50-megapixel main camera and a 200-megapixel telephoto lens will be built into the device. Besides that, it will allow Dolby Vision 4K recording at 120fps. Moreover, Realme has created the device with a detachable camera bump which will allow the users to take off the original cover and swap it for other designs like round, square or alien-inspired ones that snap into place with a precise lock.
The GT 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. It is likely to have the maximum configuration of 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The phone will be launched with Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16.
The concern about battery life has been taken care of by a 7,000 mAh battery with support for 120W SuperVOOC charging, and 50W wireless charging. It will have a 2K display with a peak brightness of 7,000 nits.
As for its design, Realme has opted for a paper-like leather back made from recycled plastics and textiles, with the color options being Diary White and Urban Blue.
According to market analysts, the GT 8 Pro will be priced nearly the same as the OnePlus 15 in India by Realme, thus being consonant with the premium flagship pricing trend in the subcontinent.
The week has also seen the introduction of some other noteworthy smartphones like the iQOO 15, Oppo Find X9, Nothing 3a Lite, and Lava Agni 4, which has caused quite a stir in the premium mobile market.
