Realme is all set to launch its next-gen phones, the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+ 5G, in India. The firm has already begun social media campaigns and has changed the contents of its official microsite, indicating the launch is just around the corner.
The Realme 16 Pro series is said to be delivering considerable advancements, especially in the area of camera functionalities. As per the information put out by the company, the regular version will be equipped with various portrait focal lengths of 1x, 3.5x, and 10x zoom. Leaks have it that the main camera will be a 200MP sensor along with an 8MP ultrawide lens. Switching over from the Realme 15 Pro’s 50MP dual setup, this is quite a leap forward.
Realme has mentioned its partnership with TUV Rheinland for Luma Colour Image tuning. The focus of this technology is on improving color fidelity and the overall quality of images, especially in portrait shots.
Battery-wise, the 16 Pro is being talked about with a 6830mAh capacity; hence it will be a strong competitor among similar devices.
The smartphone will have Realme UI 7.0 based on Android 16. Users can look forward to having four years of security updates plus three major Android version upgrades, which could potentially last up to Android 19.
A top-tier Snapdragon SOC will be the heart of the smartphone’s performance, and the company states that this will lead to surpassing the rival devices in the same segment that are powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4.
Although no official launch date from Realme has been given, the microsite refers to the series as “Portrait Master 2026,” which points to an early next-year release. Sources from the industry including the leaker Sanju Choudhary are talking about a January 6 reveal with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage as the base specs of the 16 Pro variant. The Pro+ option is likely to provide extra camera features one of which may be a telephoto lens.
The Realme 16 Pro series is set to be a direct competitor of premium mid-range smartphones in India, including the flagship of the best camera phones and high-performance devices at the same price. The price for the entry-level model is estimated to be at least Rs 30,990, although the actual price will be disclosed during the launch event.
