Sony has launched a significant upgrade for its PS Portal handheld that allows PS Plus Premium members to stream PlayStation 5 games from the cloud directly to the device without having to connect it to a PS5 console first. The updating has removed the need for a console connection to play PS5 games, thus making it more convenient for gamers to access the cloud streams of widely liked games like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Ghost of Tsushima, and GTA V.
The update not only improves the streaming service but also redesigns the interface that has three main divisions: Cloud Streaming, Search, and Remote Play. The new Cloud Streaming home screen shows all games that can be streamed which makes it easier for the users to navigate and discover.
Moreover, Sony has included 3D audio support for devices such as wireless Pulse Elite headsets and Pulse Explore earbuds. The company has set a minimum internet speed of 5Mbps for standard resolution streaming while 52Mbps is required for 4K resolution. These upgrades are meant to provide more options and comfort to the gamers who use handheld devices for gaming on the go.
