OPPO has conveyed the message that the OPPO Pad 5 tablet is going to be launched in India shortly with the OPPO Reno 15 series, which is also coming up. The revelation was made through a microsite on Flipkart for the Reno 15 series, wherein the Pad 5 is mentioned at the end of the page. The company has not yet revealed the precise release dates for the tablet or new smartphones. The Pad 5 was first introduced in China in October, and the Indian variant is likely to adopt most of the original specifications.
Flipkart's promotional activity emphasizes a 12.1-inch LCD display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and a maximum of 144Hz support. It also reveals the presence of a massive 10,050mAh battery with 67W rapid charging. Users can expect the possibility of using a stylus, although the accessory will likely be sold separately. The device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset and comes with the options of up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. Additionally, an AI-powered note-taking function already included is making it apt for professional work.
On the other hand, the Chinese Pad 5 version has a slightly better 3K display and a 10,420mAh battery; hence, one can only conclude that the two models have tiny differences in their specifications. Both the front and rear cameras are 8MP, and the device runs ColorOS 16 based on Android 16. If the Indian variant keeps these specifications, it will be highly competitive as a mid-premium Android tablet option.
The Pad 5 is shown on Flipkart in black and pink, but OPPO has not yet officially confirmed the color variants. Pricing will be a crucial aspect to compete with others. The base price of the Chinese model is CNY 2,599 (approximately Rs. 32,000) and it may cost up to Rs. 44,000 for higher-end configurations to around that price point. If it comes to the Indian market with the similar pricing, it would be competing with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE and the Apple iPad models.
At the same time as the Pad 5, OPPO is also preparing to launch the Reno 15 series in India, however, no detailed specifications or prices have been uncovered yet. The Flipkart teaser makes it clear that OPPO is very likely to push both devices quite hard soon.
