OnePlus Update 2025: Gemini AI Integration and Cross-Device Boost
OnePlus OxygenOS 16 brings Android 16 features, AI-powered Plus Mind, enhanced customisation, FlowMotion animations, and seamless device connectivity.

OxygenOS 16, the latest version of OnePlus, has been released and it is built on Android 16. The new features include a new user interface, better animations, and more AI. OnePlus is partnering more closely with Google as the update brings the new Plus Mind hub with Gemini AI as part of the collaboration for more intelligent device interactions.
With O+ Connect support improved, the software offers better connectivity across devices including Apple accessories which means seamless functionality can be extended between smartphone, tablet, Windows PC and macOS system.
OxygenOS 16 arrives with a totally refreshed design that includes Gaussian blur effects, rounded UI elements and transparent surfaces on Quick Settings, App Drawer, and Home Screen. Besides, OnePlus’s native apps that comprise Clock and Calculator have also got their visual representation changed.
The right of users to make changes to their interface has been increased considerably by the addition of the lock screen and app drawer customisation possibilities. The new version allows for multiple clock styles, lock screen widgets, depth effects for backgrounds, MotionPhotos, and video backgrounds thus giving a very personalized experience.
The Fluid Cloud interface has been upgraded once more and now it can be compared to Apple’s Dynamic Island. Users get live notifications of activities such as music playback on Spotify, package delivery, and so on, which are efficiently represented in a small but interactive bubble.
The new FlowMotion animation engine will ensure that there will be a lot of people who are going to be very happy with the changes as it promises smooth navigation and fast transitions across the system. With the coming of the age of Parallel Processing 2.0, this has also been incorporated system wide so that animations and actions are capable of cutting in and starting before the previous ones are finished enhancing multitasking and general responsiveness. Among its many features, the OxygenOS 16 operating system gives special prominence to Google Gemini, which is part of the Plus Mind AI hub. Using the Plus Key, or a three-finger swipe, users can save screenshots, text, and any other content. Reference and analysis are the tasks the AI assistant can do on context-based suggestions based on the stored content.
The update brings tools that focus on the AI and among them the AI Writer for the creative process of mind mapping, generating charts, and writing social media captions. The functions of AI Portrait Glow and AI Perfect Shot automatically adjusting lighting and composing for the final output are image editing tools.
O+ Connect supports wireless file sharing now not only between Windows and macOS but across platforms as well. Over-the-air transfer is instantaneous for iPhone users when they just place their device near a OnePlus phone. Sharing based on device proximity is also working between OnePlus devices.
There has been an increase in the integration of the Apple ecosystem, which means that Apple Watch users can now receive notifications, take photos, and upload health data directly to their OnePlus smartphones without any intermediaries.
OxygenOS 16 makes a tablet-friendly home-screen that can be scaled and an enhanced dock that can add up to 18 apps available for tablets. The Open Canvas tool can now support the usage of five apps at the same time, three in split view and two in floating resizable windows. The tablets used as the primary device will also be able to interact with Windows PCs through a virtual trackpad and drag-and-drop file transfers.
The OxygenOS 16 Open Beta programme kicks off on October 17, 2025. The new software will be pre-installed in the OnePlus 15, which will be the first device to get it.
